Marine Sharpshooter needs a real 3D graphics card
Marine Sharpshooter, on the other hand, emphasizes stealth and cooperation between the sniper and the observer. And the minimum system requirement is Windows, 300 MHz Pentium II, 64 MB RAM, 500 MB hard disk, and Direct X 8 compatible graphics card. Not too demanding at all. In fact, it sounds like I could play it on my HP Pavilion dv1227us Entertainment Notebook PC. When I get bored away from home, I can snipe a few bots. And best of all, it was only 9 bucks at Wal-Mart. I hurried home with this cool game and installed it on my notebook. My full-fledge game machine sits behind me on another desk, jealously watching me install this new game on my thin wide-screen notebook. It took only a few minutes to install it; a short and sweet installation. I organized the icons into the "Games" folder in my start menu, I hate an unorganized desktop. And finally, I clicked on the game icon. "CTU: Marine Sharpshooter Error: Couldn't set D3D Emulation mode." What!? I read the "Minimum System Requirements" on the back of the box more carefully. "8 MB DirectX 8 compatible video accelerator (capable of multi-texturing)." Damn! I guess the video card in the HP Pavilion dv1227us isn't a full-fledge 3D graphics card. If my full-fledge game machine is alive, it'd probably be rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL) right now. So much for my mobile sniping fun. Well, time to turn around and install it on the real gaming PC. Attached Image: Chieh Cheng I STILL NEED D3DEMULATIONS MODE SET Attached File: UNWISE.EXE (161 KB) GARY
