Diablo III: RMAH Unavailable a Day After Release

Only twenty-four hours after release of the real-money auction house and it has already gone down. Tonight, when I logged on, the "AUCTION HOUSE" button is grayed out. When you hover over it, you see: "The Auction House is currently unavailable."

Is it bugs? Is it exploits? Or maybe some of both. My friend has mentioned that commodity trading has been turned off (that's why you don't see anyone selling gold). I guess Blizzard is finding more problems with the RMAH.
