Hellgate: London - Classes

Normally when I play a video game, I am drawn to one favorite class to play. So when I got Hellgate: London, I was expecting one class to jump out at me. But while reading about the classes in the user manual, three classes looks so tempting! I can't choose.

The summoner is very enticing, because that is usually the type of class that I tend to play in other games. Nothing seems more diabolic to me than bending monster's wills through necromancy or mind control. And I just love to summon helpers out of thin air and corpse.

But wait, one reason I bought Hellgate: London was because I wanted to play a fantasy RPG like a FPS. And that's what the Marksman is all about. The ability to mark a head-shot using a long range sniper rifle delights me to no ends. I'd love to take out an entire horde of monsters on a roof top.

And just when I thought I'd have a difficult time picking between the Summoner and the Marksman, Hellgate: London throws the Engineer at me. The title isn't very appealing, but the Engineer's ability "to build Drones, Bots and Weapons" sounds so irresistible. But wait, the Engineer's ability to "controlling numerous smaller devices or building up a single, highly advanced combat machine" is just too much.

Wow! Hellgate: London may be the first game where I'd actually play more than one character at a time . . . something that doesn't typically happen with me and my games. I'll let you know which I enjoy the most.
