Left 4 Dead Maps and Campaigns

After taking a break from Left 4 Dead, I came back to the game to find tons of free downloadable content (DLC). None of them official, but they play just as well. My favorite site to get these new campaigns and maps is Custom Maps & Campaigns for Left 4 Dead and L4D2.

The site shows the top 16 campaigns or maps on top of the page. After you've gone through the top 16, there are still tons of DLC that is either unrated, or hasn't made the top 16 yet. More than enough to keep you busy.

The mods are polished enough where you can simply double-click on the downloaded content and it installs itself. Now the add-on contents show up in the Left 4 Dead menu, so that you can manage everything in the game without going through the console. If you need more specific instructions, take a look at this page: How to install Maps, Campaigns and Addons for Left 4 Dead. (PC)

The how to instruction link above shows you the steps to installing the campaigns and maps. However, I found that it is missing a step, perhaps, due to a bug in the game.

And that step is to open up "Extra -> Add-ons" in the game. Once you have made sure your new add-on is listed in this menu and a check-mark is next to it, you can click "OK". If you don't perform this step, the new add-on never shows up when you try to start it.
