MechWarrior Online: Disabling Joystick
I use my special programmable controller with MechWarrior Online. However, it sometimes conflicts with the joystick key bindings in the game. I am not happy that there isn't a way to completely turn off the joystick capability in MechWarrior Online so that I can simply use my programmable controller with it. But just now, I found a work around. And I'll explain how to disable joystick control in this post.
In order to use this work-around, you'll have to have a joystick or game controller that acts as a joystick. It needs to be plugged into your computer.
In the MechWarrior Online Options, in the JOYSTICK column, double-click on a command that's already mapped to a joystick button. Push a button on your joystick to assign the command to that button. You can use any button on your joystick. We will be sticking to that single button.
Go down the JOYSTICK colums, where a command is assigned, double-click on the field and assign the SAME joystick button you've used before. You'll notice that the previous command, where you used that button, has erased (it's no longer mapped to a joystick). Do that for all of the joystick commands to erase their bindings.
After you are done, save the settings. You have just effectively disabled the joystick key bindings to MechWarrior Online.
