PlanetSide 2: Problem Uninstall the Beta Client

The PlanetSide 2 beta is over and the final product is to be released tomorrow. The obvious thing to do now is to uninstall the beta client. Well, it fails with the following error message:

"There was a problem during the uninstall (1001)"

Apparently a lot of beta testers have this problem. I will figure out a way and post the method once I figure it out.

This is Sony's official response on how to uninstall the beta with this error:

'If you receive a message that an "Exception occurred while uninstalling (Error 1001)," the game client was only partially uninstalled from your computer. This issue can be resolved by manually deleting the entire PlanetSide 2 folder and removing the shortcut from your desktop. Be sure to permanently delete both of these files from the Recycle Bin. After they are removed, use the Control Panel to uninstall PlanetSide 2 Beta again. This should complete the removal process.'

This is the support page for uninstalling the beta: [PS2] Uninstalling PlanetSide® 2 Beta
