HP T5700 series thin client

Using the HP T5710 Thin Client as an Internet Appliance

you guys heard of these before? I just learned of them and they only run about $90 on eBay.

9-11 kWh. super quiet. instant on.

I'll be buying at least one to replace the laptop that I am using for my Magicjack VOIP line. With the PCI extension chassis, I can add a HDTV card and run Orb on it.

Looks pretty neat. Too bad it's not a tablet thin client . . .

Yah, what's snipes?

Will the PCI extension chassis increase the power usage?

So I saw "ESPRIT Thin Client $169 - www.espritsys.com" on gmail, while responding to this thread. What can the HP T5710 do that the esprit one for $169 can't do?

If the $169 client could do everything, then the HP T5710 for $90
seems over priced.

eBay snipers submit bids for you seconds before the auction ends. Gives you a better chance of winning the bid. I tried the one at auctionsniper.com today, but turns out I didn't even need it. There's another one at justsnipe.com. Both of these services offer you free snipes.

It appears that the Esprit System's 230TCE isn't that powerful. They claim 1 GHz in Google ad, but it's only 333 MHz and it runs Windows CE not Windows XP Embedded.
Esprit 230-TCE Windows Based Terminals

The equivalent to the HP T5700 series is probably the Esprit 470-TXP Series, starting at $395.

The PCI expansion chassis would probably increase the power usage, not sure how much. So far, I've only seen the chassis available for the T5720 model. I couldn't find the one for the T5700/T5710 available anywhere yet.

Here's the spec and accessories for T5700 series:
T5700: HP Compaq t5700 Thin Client
T5710: HP Compaq t5710 Thin Client
T5720: HP Compaq t5720 Thin Client - specifications and warranty

I'll tell you guys more when I get mine in a week or two.
