Can't Disable Screen Saver

Ever since upgrading the Darwin kernel from 9.1.0 to 9.4.0 (see "Memory Card Reader Stopped Working on New MSi Wind U100" TrackBack below), I haven't been able to disable the screen saver in Mac OS X. I have already set the screen saver to "Never" in System Preferences. But yet, it still comes on after a period of inactivity. Dos anyone experienced this problem?

Well, I found this thread titled, "Can't Disable Screensaver". I followed it's suggestion of deleting com.apple.screensaver.* from the ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost directory. There were two matching files. But the problem still persisted. :-(

By the way, the ByHost directory didn't show up in Finder. I had to get there through the Terminal program.

I can't disable it, but the timer seems to work. I set it to 2 hours. That's good enough for now. I guess if I haven't used the netbook for two hours, then the screen saver might as well use it.
