Acer Aspire 3004WLMi Stopping Responding Keyboard and TrackBall in Windows

A few days ago, I reported that my wife's Acer Aspire 3004WLMi laptop hangs in Windows XP. I couldn't even get it to install Windows XP without it hanging. Strangely it works with Ubuntu 8.10 just fine

Today, I tried installing Windows 7 and it did the same at the login screen. Funny thing is that the cursor is still flashing, meaning that the computer hasn't hanged. So it must be something else.

After reading problem reports online, I found a lot of people reporting battery problems for Acer laptops causes the laptops to respond strangely. So I took the dying battery off the Acer Aspire 3004WLMi and rebooted it. Sure enough, it started responding to keyboard and trackpad in Windows.

What a strange phenomenon? Unfortunately, the fourth rubber feet for the Acer Aspire 3004WLMi laptop is on the 14.8 volt 2000mAh battery (Model # LIP-4084QUPC SY6). Now I got to figure out a way to gut the battery so that I can use it with the laptop.

I have the same problems... My laptop doesn't response to the keyboard and touchpad with batteries.
I took the old battery and I plug it in to the shock power and it work again.

Now I want to buy a new battery, but I can't because first of all it is too expensive and second because I don't know where to buy. I don't found in my country.

I did actually gutted the battery. Now it works as the rubber foot on the computer. No battery, just use AC power.

just disable the battery device in the device manager instead of removing battery
