MSI Wind U120

The MSI Wind U120 has not yet been released but is anticipated by the netbook crowds for several reasons. The first reason is the prior success of the MSI Wind U100 that users all over the world fell in love with. The MSI Wind U100 was quoted to be an exceptional notebook by thousands of consumers who took a chance on MSI and were well pleased with the results. The second reason is that th MSI Wind U120 is said by the MSI company to an improvement and step up from their previous netbook. This leaves the fans of the MSI netbooks wondering how good the MSI Wind U120 will be.

Micro-Star International is what MSI stands for, and they are attempting to live up to their names of stardom by producing netbooks that can easily compete with the others on the market. The MSI Wind U120 targets the older crowd who needs a portable netbook filled with productivity applications and an impressive battery life. The MSI Wind U120 costs roughly $400 and is a close sibling to the The MSI Wind U110 with regards to specs and overall performance.

The new MSI netbook is very similar to the original one. The only difference is in the modem and the look. The original Wind had rounded edges that created a more fun and free appearance but the MSI Wind U120 is a far more stylish and professional looking computer. The edges on the The MSI Wind U120 are more business-like and angular. The difference in size between the two netbooks is not noticeable to the eye, the only noticeable thing is that the The MSI Wind U120 is clearly aimed at executives and traveling business-people.

The netbook has a 10-inch display with a 1024x600 resolution LCD panel. There is also a built-in webcam that has a feature called Easy-Face installed. The Easy-Face function scans the face of the webcam user and secures personal identification which prevents strangers from accessing the content of the user. It is a neat feature for those who plan on using their webcam often during chatting sessions.

The specs on the the MSI Wind U120 are similar to its older sibling. A 6-cell battery, 160GB hard drive, and 802.11b wireless connectivity are all clear markings of the netbook. The netbook is 7-inches wide, 10-inches long, and 1.3 inches thick. In addition to good battery life and specs, the MSI Wind U120 netbook offers an optional 3.5G modem.

MSI is attempting to take the eco-friendly route with its computers. They make the claim that their computers only consume 20% of the power consumed by a normal PC. The lower consumption of power is helping business for MSI. The company states that they are selling 200,000 laptops on a monthly basis and there is a great possibility that the MSI Wind U120 will contribute to the impressive sells.

The MSI Wind U120 is a good computer for the older crowd who wants something that is nice looking and considered a small easy to carry internet companion. It is the upgraded version of the original wind that so many love.
