So why does it require a cold boot? Wouldn't warm boot work even better?

they just call it that. it's a cold boot because you can do it from a machine off state and even take out the memory and use another system. that's cold boot. plus if you watched the demo you see that they actually take out the battery and reboot it. that's a cold boot.
