Power Wheels Battery Connector Harness Now Available for SLA Batteries

For years, I've been keeping my kids happy by modifying and upgrading their Power Wheels. And one upgrade I've always wanted to perform was to replace the standard Power Wheels 12V battery with a sealed Lead Acid battery.

The standard Fisher-Price 12v Power Wheels battery has always been a headache to maintain. It requires constant manual maintenance with the included charger. You gotta charge it at least once a month. And it has to be overnight, but not more than 18 hours or something like that. I never really have the time to keep my eyes on it. So after my kids ride it once or twice, the battery dies due to the lack of love and tender care.

I much prefer to use a standard SLA battery, which I have a 12v car battery charger that automatically tops it off and maintain the condition of the battery without me watching over it. We are now in a century of automation. It's ridiculous to have to labor over a battery and lose sleep over it.

But what kept me from getting a SLA battery for Power Wheels was that it used a proprietary connector. The proprietary connector was nowhere to be found on the Internet. I had to hack through a Power Wheels battery, just to get the battery connector harness out. And I see that under the sealed top, the battery is a standard lead acid battery with acid refill ports.

But my dream can now come true tonight. Because I saw on Amazon that there is the Wire Harness Connector for Fisher-Price Power Wheels 12-Volt SLA Battery. Being able to purchase this connector on Amazon Prime saves a lot of work and provides the ability to instantly modify any 12v Power Wheels with lots and lots of power.

I'm ordering two of these connectors tonight. I'll be looking for two good SLA batteries for this purpose as well. Others have reported that the standard Power Wheels battery is 12v 9Ah. I'll definitely be looking for an inexpensive SLA that has more capacity for that. Stay tuned.
