Re: the pin labeled TH. I can't verify this at the moment, but I would expect that connects to a thermistor to monitor battery pack temperature. I have an adapter from Amazon to allow me to use a Milwaukee M18 battery in a Bauer tool. My adapter has a 10k ohm resistor from B- (battery negative) to the TH terminal, ans also a 15.0k ohm resistor from B- to the adjacent terminal labeled IO in the image on this page.

TH is the thermistor pin (thermistor is a diode that changes resistance with temperature) used to sense the battery's temperature, its room temperature resistance is around 10k ohms.
ID is an identification pin so the charger knows how fast it can push amps into the battery without hurting it, and likewise for a tool to know how many amps it can pull from the battery. A 2 Ahr battery may only safely provide 20 amps of draw whereas a 12 Ahr pack with 21700 cells can potentially provide over 100 amps though the battery's and tool's electrical contacts won't handle that much current.
