Using SensorPEDIC SensorGEL Without a Mattress?

Has anyone used a SensorPEDIC SensorGEL mattress pad directly on the ground? I was wondering if that would work as a mattress all by itself? How would that feel? Kinda of debating whether the 1.5" SensorGEL would be too thing for the floor. Maybe the 3" would work as a nice pad.

I have a 1.5" SensorGel twin topper. But instead of using it on the bed, I use it on the ground, which is carpeted. It's firm, but comfortable. I used a comforter on the carpet before the SensorGel. But started getting body aches. With the SensorGel, I don't wake up to body pain.
