Trouble Logging onto Remote DesktopI have several computers at home. Some running Windows, some running Linux, and one running Mac OS X. For the Windows computers, I love using Remote Desktop to remotely access it. One of my Windows computer is used for photo editing and processing. And it's a notebook computer. With all of the special power options and screen savers turn off, I can close the lid of the notebook and it will continue to run. But I have the hardest time logging onto this computer using Remote Desktop. Today, I was struggling with it again. So I went to open the lid to see if there is something wrong with the notebook computer. But it is running just fine. I went back to my other computer and, all of a sudden, it logged onto the remote computer just fine. That tipped a switch in my head and lit the light-bulb. I went back to the notebook computer, closed the lid. Once again, I had trouble logging onto it from my other computer. Re-opening the notebook lid allowed me to log on straight away. What a strange implementation of Remote Desktop. But now I know how to log onto it every single time. Guess I'll just have to waste a little bit more electricity keeping the screen on while I use it remotely. Chieh Cheng
