SmartPhone Intermittently Shuts Down and Won't Boot Up
I've been using my trusted Google LG Nexus 5 for a long time. But in the past few months, it's been turning off all by itself for no apparent reason. The problem manifests more when using the camera. But just this last week, the problem has gotten worse. It not only turns off intermittently, but it also fails to boot up more and more often. And it fails to boot up even with a fully charged battery. By last week, it won't boot up at all unless the AC adapter is plugged into the USB port.
Seems like a battery issue. But I have another BL-T9 Nexus 5 battery. And the Nexus 5 exhibits the same symptom with both batteries. So I have not give it another thought. But after weeks of fussing with it, I finally decided that both old batteries are the culprit, because the phone boots up fine on AC power.
I ordered a new BL-T9 battery. It arrived yesterday. After installing it today, the phone boots up by itself and has so far not shut down yet. It looks like when the phone shuts down intermittently, the battery may be too old and dying.
