Rio CE2100 Dead!

I just got my Rio ce2100 3 months ago and it quit working. It won't even charge or turn on when connected to the power source. I'm an Electrical Engineer (graduating in May) and feel confident enough to try charging the battery myself with a power source...but before I start taking stuff apart, has anyone tried this successfully? I find it hard to believe the battery is already dead forever after only 3 months of use.

Cheng, have you not told the lady about your book yet...? ;D

My first Rio Carbon died completely when I used the microphone once. Did your player possible die of the same reason?

I recently opened my Carbon, I guess you open a CE2100 the same way. So if you still need help, please write another entry (maybe with your new e-mail address in it)! :)

Hey, Tim. I have the same problem as Christina, only I have had my Rio Ce2100 for over 2 years. There is no possible way to open the player without totally breaking it. No screws or anything.
It gets warm when it is charging, but again does not turn on.
I am not sure about Christina, but my CE2100 does not come with the microphone function (though it does have a microphone... weird).
Could you help us out?

Thankya,
Bill Collins
