Wayne Dalton Classic Drive Model 3018 with a Liftmaster hardwired keypad.

I want to change the passcode numbers for my Wayne Dalton Classic drive and I have a Liftmaster hardwired keypad. I have pressed the WD Program button, went to the Liftmaster keypad and entered four new numbers but the WD drive is not accepting the new code. Please help.
